  1. Saturday 20th April and 16 members of the Fishers Tryst AC had a great day at Glencorse RSV. Weather was good even tho the wind is still adding to the challenge!.. Almost all anglers caught their limit on various lures and buzzers before moving onto catch n release... Especially Roger who landed, then returned a fine rainbow trout of 8 lbs near the dam. Once again an outstanding service start to finish... boats were all well prepared and the equipment given as part of the package was impressive. Thanks to Bill and Duncan for another great day out... already looking forward to our next outing in June.

  3. Arrived about 5.30pm on Tuesday and was greeted by the fishery staff (so helpful with aiding me with my equipment into my boat)This all helps when you are desperate to start fishing! Had a really super evening taking 10 fish on catch & release. I must also add I probably lost another 10 with another 8 to 10 takes missed. Top of the water sport is my favorite method and was not dissapointed with the constant action. Id spoken to other anglers who were also on the water and the response was they only had a couple of fish but were having a great day. Obviously we all know methods can change almost hourly when it comes to trout fishing but if I can pass on my method I hope it may help someone else. There was a fair 8-10mph wind and I fished the slicks with a daddy on the point and two hoppers on the droppers. It was an absolute necessity to degrease the florocarbon every 20mins or so to sink the leader in the slicks. The fish were turning away right at the fly and this I know was due to the nylon (They're not stupid those Glencourse trout!) Degreased, different result. Fished static the takes were very delicate and could have been easly missed in a ripple. As for the patterns I used you can ask Bill the fishery owner as he is trying them for himself! Glencorse Rsv Highly Recommended.

  4. Another great day out on Glencorse. The facility keeps getting better, new boats, electric outboards for hire and all round attention to angler satisfaction is terrific. Our club, The Fishers Tryst had a good day with most people catching good hard fighting fish on various methods.

  5. Thanks for Saturday, the lads and lassies of cramond angling club had a great day in great surroundings thanks to your staff and you.
37 fish from 6 boats in bright and an easterly wind, all the newbies had fish which is a big bonus and boost for their confidence.
Would recommend to anyone or any club as it's a cracking water for expierienced or beginners alike.

    thanks again

  6. Evening Boat, Thur 5th July 2012

First time I have fished Glencorse in about 15 years and the beauty of the place always catches the eye on a nice evening. Facilities coming along and the guys have put a lot of work in to get the boats to top standard.

Water was discoloured due to terrential rain on Wed but there were plenty fish moving.

Managed my best fish ever - and only one of the night - after about 20 casts on a static buzzer setup with Orange Fritz on the point, 3lb 9oz rainbow.

The rest of the evening was a pleasure just watching the sunset.

  8. Fished Glencorse last week. The owner couldn't have been nicer to my son who is new to fly-fishing and has still to catch his first trout, giving him plenty of tips and some flies that have worked. There were plenty of fish coming to the surface and we each had three fish on the hook throughout the evening, alas only one in the boat but that says more about our skills as fishermen. Glencorse is set in a lovely setting, there are lots of fish and the people friendly - I can't recommend it highly enough to experienced fishermen & novices like us.

  9. Fished Glencorse today, had one of the best days fishing for a long time. Had my bag limit fairly quickly on nymphs and Kates then went on to have a real red letter day. Fish coming to Kates, snatchers, a few on bushy dries with perfect takes off the top. Fish fighting way above their weight in stunning surroundings. My boat partner managed four double hook-ups in one day and I saw something for the first time ever - two perfect rises at the same time to two hoppers, both fish safely released. A truly brilliant day - get yourself to Glencorse, can't recommend it highly enough. Big thanks to Bill for the advice and help.

  11. Fished Glencorse RSV, evening session (13-06-2012), fish showing all over the water, had a great night, caught the limit then went on to catch and release. Fish are strong and put up a good fight before coming to the net. My thanks to the management team who have obviously put in the time required to make this one of the primary fishing lochs in southern Scotland.

  12. Very enjoyable evening spent fishing on 13th June. The fish I caught were extremely strong and in great condition. First time I have fished here, usually preferring Loganlea, but it wont be the last. Thanks to the staff who were very helpful.

So many fish around it was hard knowing which way to cast :) most fishers caught their bag limit and then fished on catch n release with great success.. some really decent BIG fish had to be put back.... Great set up with excellent support from the team at Glencorse... Already looking forward to our next vist(s).
